We are having an Open Mic on Monday, May 11th in the classroom. Each student will present a short poem, story, or passage in front of the class. Students may also present their poem at the 3rd grade Open Mic Night at Gator Gala that evening. Students who want to present in the evening will need to be in the Media Center to line up at 6:20. Presentations will start at 6:30pm.
Students may choose any poem or short passage (100-200 words) to share. I will have options in class from which students may choose or they may bring a selection from home. All selections need to be made by Friday May 5th. Poems/passages about leadership would connect well with Gator Gala (suggestion only). Poems and passages may be read and do not have to be memorized. They should however be well rehearsed. Students may dress to portray a character from their reading or in dress clothes to make the day special. Students may also bring visuals or props that go with their readings. Students will be graded on fluency, expression, and vocal projection in accordance with our 4th quarter 3rd grade standards.
