Monday: Fox in Socks Day- Wear Silly Socks
Tuesday: Cat in the Hat Day- Wear your favorite or silliest hat
Wednesday: D.E.A.R. Day (Drop Everything and Read)- Wear PJ's and bring a blanket and flashlight- don't forget your favorite book
Thursday: Daisy Head Mayzie Day- Crazy Hair
Friday: Dress as your favorite Dr. Seuss character
Math: We will be working on measuring and line plots. Practice measuring household objects to the 1/2 and 1/4 inch.
Writing: Dialogue- We will be practice writing dialogue with correct commas and quotation marks.

We are also practicing narrative writing and continuing a story for milestones.
Reading: Cause and Effect

Happy Valentine's Week!
This will be my last blog update since Mrs. Warren will be returning on Wednesday. I have had a wonderful time teaching your children and will miss them very much.
Math- We will keep reviewing measuring with a ruler and we will learn about line plots.
Reading- In reading we are going to review what we have previously learned about character traits and describing characters.
Writing- Students are working hard to finish up their habitat writings which they will present at the end of this week.
Science- This week we are wrapping up our habitat unit! Students will learn about pollution and the effects it has on different habitats this week. They will have a test over habitats and pollution on Friday.
-Tomorrow we will be exchanging Valentine's in class. ALP students will be sent back to class to participate in this activity. Please make sure your child has a Valentine for every student if they chose to participate. We have 22 students in our class.
-Tomorrow we will also be celebrating the student's incredible success with their multiplication timed test by having an ice cream party! This is so well deserved by each of the students!
- Publix Math Night is this Thursday Night!
- Permission forms went home today for students who would like to audition for a speaking part in the third grade musical.
Math- We are finishing 6's, 7's, & 8's time tables. There will be a test on Wednesday. After that we'll get started on our measurement unit!
Writing- This week we are going to star writing about a habitat through the viewpoint of an animal that lives there.
Reading- We will be combining reading with our health lesson and learning about the circulatory and respiratory systems.
Science- We are continuing to learn about Georgia's habitats.
-We are having Spring Picture day tomorrow! Every student will have their photo taken for the class picture. If you want your child's individual picture taken please send in the payment form!
-Next week we will be exchanging Valentine's cards on February 14th. This is not required, however we request that students who participate bring a card for every student. I also ask that students have the "to" and "from" filled in before coming to school that day. Students should also bring in a decorated shoe box to hold their Valentine's.
-On February 14th we are also having our Multiplication Ice Cream Party! ALP students will be coming back to join us for both the ice cream and the Valentine's cards!
-Rotisserie Shop Spirit Night is this Thursday (2/9)
-Mrs. Warren will be returning next week! I know how much the students miss her so February 15th should be a very exciting day!
-Publix Math Night is also next week on Thursday, February 16th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
