Reading: Our activities this week in reading will center around The Polar Express.

Friday- We will watch Polar Express and compare and contrast the movie to the text. We will discuss
how the movie is told from a different point of view.
Social Studies- We are continuing to learn about Susan B. Anthony. We will talk this week about character traits she displayed and obstacles she overcame in fighting for women's rights and the abolition of slavery.
Test on Thursday.
Math- We are finishing up studying properties that help us with multiplication. The commutative property: If 2x3=6, then 3x2=6. The Associative property: 2x3x5 can be solved by first multiplying 2x3 and then multiplying the product by 5 (2x3=6 6x5= 30) or by first multiplying 3x5 and then multiplying the product by 2 (3x5=15 15x2=30). The Distributive property: 5x7 can be decomposed into (5x5) + (5x2).
We are continuing to work on 2 step word problems.
