Math- We are reviewing equivalent fractions and fractions on a number line. We will not have math homework unless your child has a specific skill they need to work on.
Social Studies- We are studying Cesar Chavez this week. We have recently covered Thurgood Marshall and Lyndon B. Johnson. We are also reviewing the branches of government and learning about separation of powers. Students will have a test next Tuesday on the three people and will complete a table in Microsoft word for a technology project to demonstrate their knowledge of the branches of government. Look for study resources to come home in agendas Monday or Tuesday.
Reading- Open Mic will take place in reading class on Thursday. Students should be ready to present their poem or short story. Students will be graded on fluency and expression. We are enjoying book clubs this week. Everyone has chosen a book and is in a group with 3-4 other students. They will be reading, reviewing skills, and sharing together.
