The Georgia Milestone's Test starts on Wednesday! Please be sure your student gets plenty of rest this week and eats a healthy breakfast each morning. Because of Milestone's we are not assigning reading or spelling homework and all classwork other than Social Studies is review.
Math: This quarter students will receive a grade for how well they have memorized their multiplication tables. They will be asked to solve 100 problems in 10 mins. Completing 85 problems or more in the 10 mins will be considered a 3. Students who have not reached that goal yet have two practice tests in their agendas. They should be completed by Friday. (This is the only homework this week).
We will be playing games and doing reviews this week with all of our math standards to prepare for next Monday and Tuesday.
Writing: The students are writing story endings today and tomorrow to practice for the narrative. I am pulling each student to look over their most recent opinion writing. We are comparing it to the Milestone's rubric and deciding together one or two areas they will concentrate on to improve their writing for Wednesday.
Reading: We are reviewing finding and writing the main idea of a text with supporting details. We will also be playing jeopardy type games to review grammar skills.
Social Studies: We are learning the 6 major rivers in the US.
We are learning to locate the Hudson, Ohio, Mississippi, Missouri, Rio Grande, and Colorado. The students enjoyed the map skills, photos, and song today.
To the tune of Frere Jacques:
