I hope everybody was able to relax and enjoy their break!
I am so excited to be back in the classroom with the students this week! It's a short week so here are the highlights of what we'll be doing: Math- We are starting on fractions! Students will be bringing home instructions for their pizza fractions project (and a pizza box donated by Papa Johns for the project) tomorrow. I am sending home the project now so that students who want to get a jump start may do so. Some students may not be quite ready to start yet since we are just diving into fractions. The project will be due January 17th. Writing- We are going to start on a writing piece about the heros in our lives. Students will have the option to submit this piece in a contest sponsered by East Cobb County Council. Social Studies- We will review the three branches of government and learn more about their responsibilities. This week we will also be talking about the goals that each student set for themselves at the beginning of the year and where they are in achieving those goals. The class will also work to make new goals for 2017! Homework- There will be no spelling log or reading homework this week. There will be math homework on Thursday. We're getting to that time of year when snow may decide to appear (possibly on Friday) so a green inclement weather forms are also being sent home tomorrow! PLEASE fill these out and send them back in with your child on Friday. I have attached a link the form online in case you would like to print it off at home- Inclement Weather Form
