Gator Gallop March 25th. We are still looking or sign-up to run! Math- Perimeter and Area. There are great games and activities on Mrs. Kloos's blog. The hardest part is knowing and remembering when to use square units and paying attention to whether a word problem is asking for perimeter or area.
Reading- Context Clues and Figurative Language. These are review skills. As a family think of as many idioms as you can ie. It is raining cats and dogs. Discuss there meaning. Listen for figurative language (idioms, similies, metaphors, hyberbole, or onemonepea) while watching TV. Writing- We are practicing for Milestones (and life) by reading two articles and combining what we learned into an informational writing piece that answers a question provided to us. Social Studies- Eleanor Roosevelt. Students will have a test on Monday March 20th covering Mary Mcleod Bethune, FDR, and Eleanor Roosevelt. A study sheet and weekly readers went home today as resources. Field Trip- We will visit the Georgia State Capital on May 2nd. Permission slips went home today. Please send the permission slip and payment back by March 29th. Milestones Link- If you would like to see examples of milestones questions or would like to have your child practice at home, visit the Milestones Practice/Study Guide Link to the right. We will also work through some of the practice items at school.
